Job Title: -- Electrician - Electrical Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary: -- Under the direct supervision of the Electrical Maintenance SR, this role repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment. Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit. Cuts wire and conduit to length. Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. Uses blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage-or-amperage measuring and recording devices. Impact may affect work of others and potentially, if not caught, at section level. Contributes to and supports the completion of major organization activity. Erroneous work would have negative impact. Normally top level jobs requiring considerable knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general aspects and technical phases of the job and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Independently performs non-routine and moderately complex assignments. Researches assignments, processes, and analyzes data and may develop recommendations. Competently uses computers and other systems to access, maintain, and manipulate data. May provide leadership, direction to lower level employees. In technical or production positions, may determine methods, operations, sequences; develops and/or modifies products and equipment to requirements. May be required to assist in the bidding process for special projects as they arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

  • Receives direction from supervisor and allocates the resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Performs and assists with the accomplishment of regular electrical maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Will be required to oversee outside contractors and coordinate with co-workers to accomplish tasks.
  • Interface with other employees, contractors and other departments with whom they must work or share joint responsibilities
  • Manage work orders in CMMS system, document findings and record time
  • Assist with snow removal and other ad hoc assignments

Qualifications: --

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Colorado State Registered Electrical Apprentice, Valid driver’s license required in the state of Colorado
  • General Electrical Maintenance experience - commercial experience strongly preferred
  • Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified areas.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience preferred - combination of facilities maintenance and electrical experience a plus.
