JOB SUMMARY:

Central accountability for sports betting pool and risk management of the Enterprise sport business. Responsible for bet offerings and risk strategy to drive profitability of the sports business. Develop best business practices through hiring, planning, executing all risk management related responsibilities designed to maximize revenues. All risk management functions need to be executed while cooperating fully with top management including property leads, marketers, analytics, and other key gaming operators. Emphasis will be placed on meeting revenue goals and creating realistic, yet challenging, key performance indicators, always seeking to grow the business through adoption of new products and services enterprise wide. This individual also needs to constantly identify areas of improvement and propose new strategies. An ability to improvise and meet challenges while leveraging growth opportunities to surpass competitors is among the core competencies.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Ability to quickly learn how to maximize race and sports operations – including full command of all Caesars reporting methods
  • Superb communication, organizational, operational, teamwork and interpersonal skills

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop business plans for the department in cooperation with the top management
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Evaluate the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
  • Bring out the best in staff by providing constructive feedback, coaching, development and motivation
  • Track the progress of the department weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually creating reports for the senior management team to review at regular intervals
  • Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the risk management department is functional
  • Revise and/or formulate regulation/policies and control proper implementation
  • Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and properly leverage growth opportunities
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
  • Responsibility to stay abreast of all R&S developments both internally and externally through all jurisdictions
  • Evaluate employee performance to identify hiring and training needs. There should always be a plan in place to properly coach up talent maintaining a deep bench
  • Coach and support the team giving all staff proper tools to deliver measurables
  • Awareness of offerings and products in the competitive landscape

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive experience running a mobile race and sports book in regulated jurisdiction
  • Comprehensive understanding of all primary North American sports betting markets including (but not limited to) NFL, College Football & Basketball, NBA, NHL, and Major League Baseball. Ability to effectively manage risk in soccer markets also a major plus
  • Strategic and critical thinking
  • Strong math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets, statistics
  • Familiarity with industry's rules and regulations
  • Previous experience identifying, hiring, coaching, and molding future bookmakers.
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to quickly navigate complex situations not only in a fast-paced risk management environment but also with all staff members

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to tolerate second hand smoke. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems, in a timely manner.
