Position Title HVAC/R Technician II - 1st shift

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a 1 st shift HVAC/R Technician II for our facility maintenance team in Oklahoma City,OK! Typical work schedule is Monday -- Friday, 7:00am -- 4:00pm; hours may vary based on business demand.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: assisting the more senior technician in responding to work orders, providing service and feedback to the customer on all hot and cold calls, and performing Preventive Maintenance on various types of industrial and/or commercial HVAC/Refrigeration equipment as scheduled. Strong mechanical / electrical aptitude is required, as is the ability to work safely around 3-phase power up to and including 480V.

Ideal candidates demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, a customer service focus, and a solid understanding of large building HVAC systems and their mechanical / electrical controls.

Essential Functions:

+ Maintains, operates and troubleshoots HVAC systems and equipment such as heat exchangers, chillers, and air handling units.

+ Diagnoses and troubleshoots ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, rooftop AHUs, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, etc. in an industrial environment.

+ Performs Preventive and Corrective Maintenance commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment.

+ Troubleshoots and repairs blowers and fans.

+ Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.

+ Performs basic plumbing repairs.

+ Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.

+ Performs preventive maintenance on as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

+ Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

+ Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

+ Demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

2. Two years of experience as an HVAC/R maintenance technician in a commercial or industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination education and experience.

3. Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Additional Information:

+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

+ This position may require a valid Driver's License.

+ This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

+ This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.

+ This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

+ Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

+ Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

+ Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

+ Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

+ Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

+ Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

+ Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

+ Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

+ Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

+ Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Associate's degree or trade school certification in HVAC.

2. Oklahoma State HVAC license, such as AC-L,REF-1,HE-l,or SM-1.

3. EPA Universal / CFC Certification

4. Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.

5. Working knowledge of 480V 3 phase power systems.

6. Basic knowledge of process chiller operation.

7. Exposure to troubleshooting and repairing building system controls in a commercial or industrial facility environment.

8. Demonstrated understanding of refrigeration and electrical systems.

9. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, work specifications, permitting requirements, and local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

10. Excellent customer service attitude.

Other Attributes:

+ Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
