3M is seeking a Sourcing Agent/Specialist for the Indirect Professional Services (Marketing Services) Team located in Maplewood, MN. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

Improves business results by identifying problems and opportunities, defining requirements and developing solutions to drive the improvement of Sourcing processes. Leads analytical and application support for Sourcing processes in order to deliver results in terms of service, speed and cost. Designs and manages the implementation of complex/critical sourcing activities, using various methods such as process and product understanding and Six Sigma in support of the Sourcing Policy. Leads and may manage cross-functional projects and/or focused teams to improve sourcing processes globally.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Project Implementation and Leadership: Initiates and designs plans to implement global sourcing solutions that will achieve measurable business results, ensuring compliance with the global sourcing policy. Develops project cost analysis and recommends allocation of project resources. Provides leadership that includes project management activities, business planning, work allocation and coaching. Assembles and leads multiple project teams to implement sourcing solutions. Ensures project objectives and deadlines are met. Establishes close working relationship with business unit management and vendors on sourcing strategies and activities. Proactively communicates project direction and status with key country and/or business unit management. Recommends and influences management decisions in the area of strategy, innovative solutions, sourcing solutions in your areas of focus. Negotiates to resolve issues, implement strategies and ensure client satisfaction. May provide functional supervision, which includes aligning department goals with business unit's goals, communicating vision and strategy, fostering teamwork, empowering employees.

* Sourcing Strategy, Analysis and Design: Identifies multi-faceted and complex problems to support global sourcing policy and current and future customer/business needs. Develops and implements overall category strategy for area of focus. Works with global/regional counterparts to share best practices and develop global strategies that leverage Big 3M and incorporates innovative and forward thinking solutions. Partners with the business to develop proactive business strategies to source the goods and services needed by the business to accomplish their goals. Develops cause and effect analysis and documentation. Develops and recommends tactical and strategic solutions to business unit clients and management. Ability to reflect our forward-looking vision for Marketing strategic sourcing.

* Sourcing Process Improvement: Identifies and implements opportunities for process improvements that improve service, speed or cost, through analysis of sourcing information and metrics. Minimizes the total product and process cost by leading cost reduction efforts and facilitation implementation of innovative sourcing best practices. Recognizes impacts on related processes and ensures communication of issues and proposed solutions to appropriate business and process owners.

* Training and Education: Educates clients on sourcing processes that may span multiple disciplines. Serves as resident expert in the area of sourcing processes and in the use and application of existing systems. Conducts process and application training as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university

* Minimum of four (4) years of combined experience in sourcing, purchasing, sales and/or marketing

* Experience presenting to business stakeholders

* Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

Preferred Qualifications:

* Minimum of five (5) years experience in sales and/or marketing

* Content marketing, marketing automation, customer mapping experience

* Extensive presentation and communication experience

* Demonstrated analytical skills and experience

* Strong business acumen, influencing skills, relationship-building and collaboration

* Strong project management skills

* Lean Six Sigma certified

* A broad range of eMarketing knowledge and experience

* Outstanding interpersonal skills, including presentation skills

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field

* Broad interest multiple media platforms and emerging technologies to build 'cutting edge' marketing approach

* Cross functional experience

* Thinks outside of functional role

Location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
