Job Description

Position summary:  Primarily responsible for maintaining an excellent level of customer service to our retail customers and retail sales representatives. 

 General purpose: Responsible for providing effective customer service for all retail customers and sales representatives utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs. 

Position responsibilities: 

  • Provide timely and accurate information to customer and sales representative phone calls, letters, and emails on unit pricing, minimum unit/order requirements, product availability, shipping charges, order status, pricing and product knowledge.

  • Receive, process and recap bids and quotes for customers and sales representatives.

  • Receive and process EDI orders, ASN’s, and invoices in a timely manner.

  • Enter customer, sales representative and show stock and custom orders in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Process customer and show returns according to established department policies and procedures.

  • Complete show forms, coordinate pricing and promotions, send samples, catalogs and other support materials for sales representatives.

  • Create and maintain customer product spreadsheets.

  • Set up new customers in operating system according to established department policies and procedures.

  • Assist in creation of promotional materials with the graphics department.

  • Assist with forecasting needs and product - identifying trends.

  • Provide backup at the reception window and paging when needed.

  • Assist with customer accounts receivable clearing when needed.

Essential skills and experience: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Speak, read, understand and write English fluently.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be familiar with current software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Must familiar with the data system SAP and be able to input and retrieve data.

  • Strong team player with high performance objectives and detailed oriented.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment within established department guidelines.

  • Commitment to company values and goals.

  • Ability to report to worksite at scheduled times.

  • Knowledge of SAGE 100 helpful.
