Position Description

The available position focuses primarily on the tagging of merchandise with its description, price, and item number. This includes assuring that the price ticket accurately reflects the required information and then physically affixing the ticket to the jewelry item. The position also works in support of the overall receiving process and documenting new inventory into our computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that the detail on each ticket is accurate both by proofing it against the provided documentation and through the visual inspection of the jewelry item.
  • Apply ticket to the appropriate item assuring accuracy and neatness.
  • Maintain all receiving and tagging supplies.
  • Assist as needed with the check-in of new merchandise against invoices by piece count or by weight verification, assuring accurate quantity counts or weights. 
  • Assist as needed with the preparation of merchandise groupings for customers maintaining speed and assuring accuracy.
  • Assist as needed with data entry of product movement within the GBC computer systems.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background- High school diploma or equivalent.

One year of previous processing experience desired. Previous jewelry experience a plus (sales, processing, or repair). 

Data Entry.        

Basic mathematical skills.

Strong hand-eye coordination with detail work.

A good understanding of the English language is required in order to learn how to translate and correct item descriptions as needed. (Example: On a price ticket, “2PC .41TW YG EAR” would mean; earrings with 2 princess cut diamonds weighing a total of .41 carats set in yellow gold.)
