Job Description

Builder Sales Representative

POSITION SUMMARY: Under administrative direction, is responsible for the account management, developing and increasing sales with builders; creating long-lasting relationships while ensuring the company's quality and customer service goals are met; creates and implements sales strategies concentrating on growth within existing builder accounts and pursuing new accounts; maximizes sales opportunities using product, design and pricing knowledge; and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plans and coordinates all sales initiatives with existing builders, creating long-lasting relationships, ensuring quality and customer service goals are met.

  2. Responsible for the creation and implementation of sales strategies, concentrating on growth within existing builder accounts and actively pursuing new accounts.  

  3. Responsible for the accurate forecasting of sales activities, results and timelines. Submits reports on a regular basis detailing current activities/results and all forecasting projections/planning.

  4. Responsible for maximizing sales opportunities and supports builder accounts using comprehensive product, design and pricing knowledge.

  5. Responsible for design assistance and customer support to builder accounts, ensuring quality and customer service goals are met.

  6. Responsible for problem solving, utilizing expertise and research while working closely with production and builder accounts to quickly resolve issues.

  7. Responsible for the training and provision of information to all builder accounts sales representatives related to specific product lines, production timelines, procedures and practices ensuring customer service goals are met.

  8. Responsible for coordination with internal team members in the design, pricing and bidding process to ensure accuracy and profitability.

  9. Communicates job information to required teams to allow for effective planning and execution of project requirements. Keeps supervision informed of all planning, status and completion of projects. Immediately addresses and troubleshoots issues that arise.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Knowledge, skill and ability to implement successful sales strategies and effective marketing plans.

  2. Knowledge of cabinet design, construction and functionality.

  3. Knowledge of wood products and materials, such as hardware and other accessories.

  4. Knowledge of excellent customer service practices.

  5. Knowledge of computer software appropriate to the assignment, such as Word, Excel and ADP Payroll.

  6. Knowledge, skill and ability in the use of 20/20 Design software.

  7. Skill in the use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches.

  8. Skill in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

  9. Skill and ability in obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment and materials.

  10. Skill and ability to negotiate all aspects of the sales and marketing responsibilities.

  11. Skill and ability to ensure attention to details and monitoring all areas of responsibilities.

  12. Skill in the operation of a personal computer.

  13. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

  14. Ability to prioritize and manage work flow effectively.

  15. Ability to work effectively with others.

  16. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

  17. Ability to work under stringent deadlines and handle issues which develop unexpectedly.

  18. Ability to manage complex situations in order to lead to a successful outcome.

  19. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, including plans and blueprints.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma/GED and five years of sales experience in the cabinet industry required; previous experience with 20/20 Design software required; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

  • Proven experience in the successful execution of strategic plans, closing and growing sales.

  • Background Check

  • The employee normally works indoors under typical office conditions where the noise level is typical of such a setting. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in that work environment at job sites can be loud. The position infrequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

  • The employee may infrequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration and loud noise levels.

  • Employees are regularly required to travel between various company worksites, external meetings or other non-company locations.
