Shift Manager Maintenance - Tin Mill

The Maintenance Shift Manager is responsible on a shift basis for all maintenance oversight of the Tin Mill operations or systems.  The primary function of the Maintenance Shift Manager is to maximize the “up-time” of the Tin Mill equipment, including utilizing personnel efficiently, effectively and in a safe manner.  Reacts to repair, production and/or quality issues in a timely manner and to maximize the life of equipment (increased reliability) and to minimize the cost associated with upkeep of the equipment.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Maintains delay rate at or below specified target for the assigned area.

·         Coordinates maintenance work on area equipment on a shift basis.

·         Troubleshoots, addresses and corrects all area delays.

·         Maintains a history or database on all maintenance performed in assigned area as required.

·         Coordinates the MT’s in the area.

·         Develops and trains planners and team leaders

·         Develops trouble-shooting skills of hourly workforce.

Experience Requirements:

Supervisory experience, manufacturing /maintenance background (heavy industrial experience and/or engineering discipline), general people skills, predictive and preventative maintenance literate.

Preferred Requirements:  2 years steel industry maintenance experience or equivalent and 5 years flat roll maintenance & Supervisory experience.                

Education Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:                     Associate Engineering / Technology (Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent in education and experience

Preferred Requirements:                     Bachelor Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

Other Requirements: 

Microsoft Office software/systems trained or capable

Tabware, Internet/E-mail trained or capable

Strong Maintenance Aptitude
