Client in Hanford/Lemoore area is currently seeking a qualified Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor to start immediately.

Position Summary:

Assist in the promotion and maintenance of current Environmental Health and Safety programs. Provide effective feedback for corrective measures to isolate and prevent workplace injuries and actively continue employee health and safety development and EHS awareness.

Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for (With guidance from local plant management, and Corporate):
  • Conduct plant inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions in accordance with Cal-OSHA regulations. Issue work orders and follow-up to correct conditions;
  • Perform post-accident investigations to identify cause, exposure, providing effective feedback;
  • Perform analysis, such as Job Safety Analysis, Sound, Thermal, Ergonomic and Repetitive Motion;
  • Develop and present safety trainings, skill development, tail-gate meetings in accordance with Cal-OSHA general industry, and Olam safety orders and programs.
  • Participate in emergency response activities, planning and demonstrations;
  • Hazard Communication program oversight, inspections and follow-up in accordance with local, state and federal regulations;
  • Serve as liaison for local Worker’s Comp communications, inquiries and investigations;
  • Gather data and provide results on environmental requirements, including, but not limited to inventories, MSDS sheets.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum:
  • MUST be able to work extended days and hours during the season (Approximately May through October)
  • Successful completion of Occupational Health or Environmental Tech courses
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices
  • Working knowledge of Air regulations
  • Working knowledge of all Environmental regulations
  • 1 – 4 years of experience within a manufacturing environment
  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • HAZWOPER 12-Hour Operator certification with the ability to become 40-Hour certified
  • OSHA Lift Truck Trainer
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office and other database type applications with working knowledge of email
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Health, Risk Management, or related field is preferred
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in manufacturing (food manufacturing preferred) – moderate understanding of the manufacturing process
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations
  • Extensive experience tracking injuries and gathering documentation
  • Certified OSHA Trainer
  • Bilingual – Spanish
