About this job

The Laundry Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing mechanical and service support to the Laundry & Uniforms  Division of the resort.  This position reports to the director of  laundry operations


Qualifications

  • Must have one year or equivalent experience as a General Maintenance Tech I.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guest, vocational students, and coworkers is also required.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend duty.
  • The equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be able to speak English.

Responsibilities & Skills 

  • A general knowledge of many facets of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical
  • Conduct periodic inspections of laundry and dry cleaning equipment; repairs and performs preventive maintenance on all laundry equipment including electrical, mechanical, gas, and air compressed systems.
  • Performs general maintenance duties such as clearing material and/or equipment jams, replacing belts, repairing sheared pins, changing linen filter, monitoring component wear,
  • Clean and lubricate as needed, order and maintain replacement parts and other duties as needed to assure the effective and efficient operation of laundry and dry-cleaning equipment systems and their related tools, equipment, and areas.
  • Performs inspections, major and minor repairs and replacements on electro/mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, subsystems, components and parts. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting from schematic drawings, operation analysis, corrective repairs and operator/user training.
  • Advise management of general condition of facilities and equipment and any unusual problems or concerns that may arise; make recommendations for facilities improvements or upgrades.
  • Repairs and maintains washers, driers, extractors, condensers, pumps, blowers, presses, and other laundry equipment.
  • Operates, examines, and dismantles equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Repairs or replaces parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Replaces components, such as bearings, motors, and micro switches. Replaces faulty sections of pipe, valves, and fittings, using plumbing tools. 
  • Dismantles steam traps and removes sediment. Removes faceplate from equipment to clean out dust and lint. Replaces worn or torn aprons, roll covers, and pads on mangles. 
  • Lubricates machines and equipment, using grease gun and oilcans.
