About this job

The Painter is responsible for painting the outside of commercial buildings such as shopping centers, warehouses, and offices. No experience is needed; an experienced painter or safety trainer will provide training in all the necessary trade skills. All tools and personal protective equipment are also supplied by the company. A painter's wage increases as he or she learns new skills such as detail/trim painting, wood and stucco repair, driving a boom lift, and using a paint sprayer. After completing entry level painter training, it is possible to be promoted to a Lead Painter or Foreman position with a company van and bonuses based on job performance. Our company has grown quickly and consistently for the past several years, and we expect our future project managers and foremen to be promoted from entry level painter positions.

The requirements for this position are:

Teamwork - we work on big projects that require cooperation between painters. Mutual respect between team members is important for efficiency on the job as well as our company culture.

Willing to learn - our system for completing exterior paint projects is simple enough for a new painter to start doing productive work right from the start. As long as he or she is willing to learn new skills, there will be opportunities to advance.

Reliability - A painter is expected to be able to show up on time and reliably to the job or the carpool pick-up location. Responsibility and reliability are important requirements for advancement into a leadership position.

Travel - most of our work is in the local Atlanta metro area, but we also travel throughout the southeast to provide consistent work for the team. During the summer, full-time painters must be available to travel to other cities in the southeast approximately one week per month. Travel expenses are paid by the company and no one is expected to use their personal vehicle to travel outside of the Atlanta metro area.

We are also happy to facilitate a part time schedule for students, someone who already has a full-time job and is looking for extra income, or someone who just wants to gain experience and learn valuable skills. Experienced painters may also apply and could be hired at a different level.
