PrideStaff is conducting a search for an Estimator for a growing construction company located in Golden, CO. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Overview
The Estimator works with project teams to develop cost estimates, reviews project progress for budget compliance. The Estimator will complete a variety of estimates including: construction projects, quantity survey/pricing/budgeting/value analysis, square foot estimates, working drawing estimates, proposal/bid or GMP estimates, systems comparisons and value engineering alternatives.

The Estimator works with project teams to develop cost estimates, reviews project progress for budget compliance. The Estimator will complete a variety of estimates including: construction projects, quantity survey/pricing/budgeting/value analysis, square foot estimates, working drawing estimates, proposal/bid or GMP estimates, systems comparisons and value engineering alternatives.
Job Duties
- Analyze drawings and specifications ensuring required documentation
- Develop full-scope estimates based on Bid-build, Design-Build construction documents or conceptual drawings
- Analyze bid documents for risk and opportunities
- Direct and organize the bid team with regards to means, methods, strategy and schedule
- Participate in technical proposals for alternative delivery projects
- Monitor actual versus estimated costs
- Maintain project cost history
- Provide detailed quantity take off of specific trades
- Create detailed cost estimates and review with management
- 5 - 10 years estimating or construction/field experience
- Excellent conceptual estimating skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong math/accounting skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Assist with analysis of building components and systems
- Experience in alternative delivery methods
- Industry related college degree is preferred or similar technical training/experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Timberline and On-ScreenTakeoff
