IT eCommerce Development Managers! Are you ready to lead the team who was recognized for the #1 retail eComm website in the USA? You will be responsible for managing the development and deployment of Websphere Commerce and contributing to the overall architecture of the eCommerce Landscape. This requires comprehensive knowledge of products like IBM WebSphere Commerce Suite (our tool) or other tier 1 eComm systems such as ATG, Hybris or Demandware. Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, monitoring other team members, and leading projects.

II. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the development and deployment of Websphere Commerce and contributes to the overall architecture of the eCommerce Landscape.
  • Allocates resources and supervises direct reports.
  • Hires, develops, and motivates assigned staff.
  • Cultivates, disseminates, and enforces functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Ensures the delivery of high quality development code by building and enforcing guidelines and best practices. Performs periodic code reviews to ensure standards are being maintained. Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring as it relates to all development practices.
  • Knows in detail the content and potential impact of future releases, short and long term, across all TSC Omni-Channel initiatives.
  • Reviews and analyzes existing applications and system effectiveness and efficiency, and then develops strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Researches and makes recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Assesses and cultivates long-term strategic goals for IT area of responsibility in conjunction with department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Works in business facing roles to contribute throughout the end to end delivery lifecycle of complex and large-scale technology solutions.
  • Leads and manages on-shore, near shore, and off-shore development teams and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science discipline required.
  • 10 + experience of progressive experience in eCommerce platform and tools (IBM WebSphere Commerce products, ATG, Hybris, Demandware) is required.
  • Retail, online and multi-channel retail experience (across shopper marketing, integrated marketing and digital advertising/marketing media) is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Training/Systems

  • Comprehensive knowledge of B2C and/or B2B e-commerce platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of eCommerce customer experience monitoring and systems monitoring tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of eCommerce tools such as IBM WebSphere Commerce products, ATG, Hybris, and Demandware is required.
  • Knowledge of Tealeaf, Keynotes - KITE, Google analytics preferred.
  • Knowledge of IBM WebSphere Commerce's "Management Center" preferred.
  • Proven ability in outstanding thought leadership and development of a team.
  • Proven ability in building effective cross-functional team relationships, including prior experience project managing with IT counterparts is required.
  • Superior ability in establishing effective processes and prioritizing across projects in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Superior ability to conduct research into software related issues.
  • Superior ability to manage and support third-party relationships.
  • Superior ability to develop bid requirements for E-commerce applications and upgrades, review submitted bids, and make appropriate decisions.
  • Superior ability to direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
  • Superior ability to participate in the development and implementation if IT policies and procedures, including architecture, project management, and SDLC standards, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Superior ability to work independently, work in a fast paced environment, and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction.
  • Superior critical thinking skills with the ability to develop completely new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to handle conflict and to work with a distributed team.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
