Designer - Juniors/Athleisure

Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for the design within active and athleisure for the So brand; Creates an assortment that is relevant to brand position and Juniors customer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

product design

• Designs, owns, builds, creates and updates tech packs, trim sheets and design packages; ensures information is accurately entered into PLM
• Actively participates in the conceptual development of the brand with Sr. Designer/Design Director
• Provides direction for color and art development to artist
• May present their designs in meetings; influences cross-functional partners on product direction
• Partners with trend and Design Team to prioritize trends for area of responsibility and to share creative ideas
• Researches the domestic market in order to identify new trends, fabrics, techniques, etc.; completes pre-packages
• Meets with vendors for sourcing of fabric and trim; review seasonal concept direction
• Ensures product consistency with market trends as well as business strategy
• Manages team

QUALIFICATIONS

required

• Expert designing in Adobe Illustrator
• Ability to partner cross functionally
• High attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Strategic thinker while being creative and innovative team oriented
• Elevated taste level

preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
• 5-7 years design experience, Juniors/Girls apparel design experience strongly preferred
• Previous retail experience
