Position Purpose and ScopeResponsible for supporting the SD Corporate Communications in executing communications strategies in support of the Company’s global business strategy and transformation. He or she is responsible for helping to set the strategic direction of the company’s efforts to build and protect its reputation. The scope spans issues and crises, executive positioning, financial communications, digital and philanthropy communications.

Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accomplished communications professional with exceptional media relations capabilities and experience developing comprehensive strategies for communication.

  • Develop high-quality written materials that convey RL’s corporate narrative, including messaging platforms, press releases, blogs, Q&As, speeches, editorials, infographics etc.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of business partners across all levels of the global organization
  • Support the early detection, identification and proper handling of opportunities or situations that may have a direct impact on RL’s corporate reputation
  • Support strategy and content development for the company’s corporate digital platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn and Glassdoor
  • Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with top tier, global business, financial, press and influencers
  • Sustain an in-depth understanding of the media landscape, industry trends, current events and competitor’s media efforts
  • Media/news monitoring and reporting related to corporate news and competitive intelligence
  • Develop and manage internal processes to enhance global coordination and alignment of communications activities (e.g., disclosure and media policies, protocols for corporate communication, maintain issues handbook)
  • Assist in developing and managing media key metrics, to measure media impact
  • Manage coordination with Employee Communications team and other internal stakeholders
  • Manage outside partners and / or vendors and ensure they are well briefed on the needs of the company and desired outcomes / expectations

Requirements• Bachelor’s degree; Minimum 5-7 years public relations/communications experience

  • Established media relations skills. Must have proven experience managing top-tier press for leading brand(s)
  • Strong understanding of changing media landscape
  • Experience in building and managing media programs that deliver measurable results
  • Conversant in media measurement and analytics
  • Self-starter approach to work and strong problem solver
  • Strategic and execution oriented – must have the ability to deliver high quality initiatives to tight deadlines in a pressurized environment
  • Stellar writing and editing skills – PowerPoint plan development, news releases, fact sheets, talking points, executive briefing documents
  • Excellent persuasive written and verbal communications skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of how to develop communications strategies to bring about perception change and build understanding of new direction
  • Proven track record of managing staff and or/agency teams to achieve measureable results
