POSITION SUMMARY

The Graphics Supervisor is responsible for supervising all graphic and multimedia design as well as production for all brands and sub-brands within the property. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Supervising daily operations and departmental performance consistent with the strategies and vision of the department under the guidance of the Executive Director.
  • Assist with Human Resources responsibilities to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; Making hiring recommendations, assisting with training and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment; compliance with company and department policies, and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with agency to amplify agency work and creative campaigns.
  • Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, or products.
  • Oversee and manage the production of various print and digital items both internally and through vendors.
  • Efficiently handle and delegate high-volume workload, and ensure all deadlines are met by graphic design team.
  • Cultivate a creative and collaborative environment to inspire design and build cohesive teams.
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type.
  • Study illustrations and photographs to plan presentation of materials, products, or services.
  • Use a variety of tools, applications and computer software to generate new images.
  • Modify or revise complex digitals, RIP correctly, and print properly for a variety of media Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer.
  • Draw and print charts, graphs, illustrations, infographics, and other artwork, using computer applications.
  • Confer with MGM clients to discuss and determine layout design.
  • Enhance written copy with unique and creative applications of color and design.
  • Key information into computer equipment to create layouts for client.
  • Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with clients and making necessary changes.
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Other job related duties as requested

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least two (2) years of experience in design work in an agency, in-house or freelance.
  • Portfolio is required; must complete a technical design test within a specific time frame.
  • Effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms

Preferred:

  • Bilingual, English as the primary or secondary language
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
  • Photography skills

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • MA Gaming License
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of production: write simple specifications, incorporate printing and binding techniques, die cuts, varnishes, coatings, foils, embosses and specialty papers, troubleshoot files, postscript problems, prepress, press and bindery issues.
  • Ability to follow creative direction.
  • Excellent writing, organizational and computer skills.
  • Process oriented and strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment.
  • Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator on Mac platform.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.

  • Other – Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
