Job Responsibilities

TheQuality Assurance Leadwill manage quality and testing efforts across a program or multiple projects.

They are responsible for assuring that their assigned solutions and services meet PetSmart's standards and customers' expectations for quality. They will plan, design, craft and execute testing strategies for solutions and services in a complex integrated environment.

They will own end-to-end program quality and will be responsible for leading a test team in planning and executing test programs and projects as well as providing constructive feedback throughout the development lifecycle.

They will utilize their collaborative skills to partner with other disciplines, business users and vendors to bring high quality solutions and services to successful implementation.

Using their experience with waterfall methodology and agile frameworks, they will help the team to continuously improve. They will participate in all aspects of quality assurance including establishing policies, standard operating procedures, QA processes, and metrics.

• Lead daily operations for a software testing team supporting PetSmart solutions and services;
• Lead engineering efforts related to automated testing;
• Program/Project manage concurrent test projects including managing on-site, off-site and off-shore test resources;
• Manage the status of defects/enhancements in the issue tracking/change management system;
• Plan test programs/projects and estimate resource requirements for test execution;
• Coordinate various test-related activities for project delivery: identifying task dependencies, test schedules, creation of test data, utilization of test environments, etc.;
• Audit work of testers to ensure the work being performed meets quality standards
• Establish, direct, and monitor processes for consistent test case execution, defect documentation, tracking and regression testing;
• Identify areas for improvement in the testing and deployment process and foster continuous process improvement;
• Ensure that unit testing, code reviews, functional testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, etc. are implemented and completed to meet functionality, performance, scalability and security goals;
• Review product requirements and provide feedback to ensure requirements are clear and acceptance criteria is complete;
• Provide updates to related teams on progress against the timelines and goals, escalating schedule risks as needed;
• Track and report on test status and follow up on active issues until closure;
• Assess and report status to management as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-8 years of experience in an automation QA/Software Test Engineering related role;
• 2+ years of SAP testing experience
• 3+ years managing and mentoring a Test Automation Team
• 2+ years of experience managing a QA or software testing team;
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience;
• 2+ years of experience managing off-shore teams ispreferred;
• Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management platform ispreferred;
• Experience with Retail, Merchandising, Finance, CRM, Digital or Mobile solutions ispreferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong background in testing methodologies;
• Strong background in test automation;
• Strong Program/Project management knowledge & skills;
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks and Waterfall methodology;
• Strong customer focus;
• Passion for delivering quality software solutions, systems and services;
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and the ability to deal with ambiguity;
• Strong oral and written communicator with good interpersonal skills;
• Positive attitude and solid work ethic;
• Continuous learner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with UFT/QTP
• Stress/Performance/Security testing experience
• Experience with ABAP
• Test lab management experience is a plus
• Release management experience is a plus
• Hardware testing experience is a plus.
