A day in the life..

The ideal Deputy Editor will be managing a team of editors and copy writers responsible for executing storytelling that aligns to our marketing and merchandising business priorities both for site, email, blog and magazine. (S)he acts as a guardian of the brand voice for Nordstrom, working alongside the editorial director to strategize and develop content plans that deliver against marketing strategy.

Create and update master editorial content plan that delivers against Marketing strategy in support of Nordstrom’s content strategy.
Drive the creation of trend-relevant, customer-centric, commercial stories.
Uphold and maintain the brand voice of Nordstrom.
Develop and manage a team of editors and copywriters.
Actively engage and drive cross functional work with business partners in Brand Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Marketing Analytics and other Creative Directors.
Ensure timelines are managed effectively and executed consistently.
Provide leadership to inspire, engage and motivate the editorial team.

You own this if you have...

Proven experience managing an editorial team in a mid- to large-sized company; 5 years is desired.
Experience in a mid-senior creative role in editorial, journalism or within a large-scale marketing and/or advertising agencies. Retail experience a plus.
Proven track record of working on projects from concept to completion, applying best practices with the ability to prioritize and creatively problem-solve.
Knowledge of fashion editorial, runway, high street and shopping trends.
Knowledge of constantly changing technology.
Ability to think strategically and stay on top of execution.
Ability to supervise, train and mentor employees, including organizing, prioritizing and managing timelines.
Demonstrate relentlessly high standards, fostering passion, integrity and energy.
Ability to analyze and apply data for metrics-driven results.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with a high degree of collaboration and influence.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communication, or English language.
