POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pickle and Jam Hostperson Cashier will greet guests with a prompt, courteous and cheerful manner and bids farewell upon departure. Must follow all Gold Strike and Departmental policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

  • Greets every guest in a prompt, friendly, courteous and cheerful manner
  • Log all pertinent information on all tender types.
  • Account for all revenues within outlet.
  • Offers a cordial farewell and thanks guests for dining upon departure
  • Communicates constantly with Cafeteria Busperson and Management to ensure efficient operations
  • Uses guest surname when applicable
  • Properly prepare and serve alcoholic beverages
  • Ensure that front area and food display case are clean and all side work is properly done
  • Keeps work area clean and neat
  • Ensures floor is free of spills and debris at all times
  • Knowledgeable of all Gold Strike outlets, special events, concerts and promotions
  • Answers phone properly and promptly giving name of restaurant and identifying self
  • Maintains familiarity with menu items and daily specials
  • Knowledgeable of all comp and coupon policies
  • Assists with initial guest complaints and informs manager on duty, immediately
  • Assures smooth transition at shift change remaining on duty until relief is present
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned by management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent and up to one year in a fast paced, high volume restaurant operations experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must be at least 21 years or older.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and ability to use computer register, credit card approval and imprint machine
  • Must be capable of following directions
  • Must possess good recall and memory
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, listening, and speaking.
  • Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of restaurant. Frequently walking distances up to 500 ft.
  • Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting and balancing.
  • Occasionally carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 200 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work performed in climate-controlled environment with occasional hot and cold temperature changes. Employee will be required to stand on concrete floors, tiles/mats and walk on uneven or wet surfaces. Employee may be exposed to secondhand smoke and kitchen odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:

Regular scheduled hours. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
