Job Description

We are looking for a passionate, experienced primary teachers at our Kohl's Corporate CDC.

Kohl's Child Development Center strives for excellence in the field of Early Childhood Education. The CDC offers care to the children of Kohl's Corporate Associates, ages 6 weeks to 6 years with two full-time facilities, an on-site location at the Corporate Office and a near-site facility, with a total capacity of nearly 450 children. During the summer months, we also offer a School-Age Summer Camp for children aged five to 11 years.

Job Description

Responsible for children enrolled in your classroom, writing and implementing lesson plans, parent communications and all other day to day operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Follow Kohl's and Center policies and procedures, and State Licensing Rules & Regulations

  • Treat all of the children with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the children and parents.
  • Attend all staff meetings and recommended required trainings.
  • Work well with fellow associates and supervisors.
  • Uphold/implement Creative Curriculum set forth by the Primary Teachers and follow Developmentally Appropriate Practices
  • Uphold WMELS guidelines

Accountable for the children in your care during the course of your shift

  • Maintain safety, care, and nurturance of children at all times.
  • Write notes on the Daily Connect App relaying information to the parents and/or receiving information from the parents; as well as charting all diaper changes, feedings, and naps.

Maintain necessary certification to perform job duties

  • Meet yearly continuing education requirements.
  • Keep a current Registry certificate.
  • Keep a current First Aid/CPR certificate.
  • Complete the required training in Wisconsin Model of Early Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum.
  • Ensure knowledge and training is up to date with Early Childhood best practices, WMELS, and Wisconsin Department of Children rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood I & II completed
  • If hired, Drug Screen, Health Exam, and TB Test required, (covered by company)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • At least one year of experience in Early Childhood working in the specific classroom age group
  • Understanding of developmentally applicable practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational background in Early Childhood
  • 80 days experience working in a licensed childcare facility
  • Prior experience creating age appropriate lesson plans
  • First Aid/CPR Certified
  • Fundamentals of Infant/Toddler Development Certified
  • Shaken Baby Syndrome Certified
  • Child Abuse/Neglect Certified

Special Requirements:

  • Able to lift 40lbs
  • Standing, sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, walking, and moving at a fast pace
  • Flexible work schedule and availability
