Job Summary: Autonomously Maintains H-E-B facilities and systems in a professional manner that assures safety, efficiency and reliability. Supports Facilities Services mission to be a 'World Class' Maintenance Management organization using the latest in technology, processes and procedures.

Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary:

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS:

  • Lead other technicians as assigned to troubleshoot, repair or replace building and grounds equipment or systems
  • Identify and correct root cause of pavement, roofing, floors, drainage and other systems failures
  • Provide appropriate training to other technicians, operations partners and venders

MECHANICAL:

  • Identify and correct failures in central facility support systems such as central compressed air system,
  • Identify and correct root cause of failures in major mechanical systems such as AS/RS, the carrousels, automated cranes etc.
  • Identify and correct root cause of failures on automated packaging, stamping equipment, conveyor systems, sorters, etc.
  • Install new production equipment to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Train lower level technicians

HYDRAULICS AND PNEUMATICS:

  • Identify and correct root cause of failures with facility hydraulic and pneumatic systems and machine components
  • Train and assist other technicians in the operation and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pressure compensation, flow control devices, actuators, system balancing, safety and operation

HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATION:

  • Identify and correct the root cause of HVAC and cooling system failures
  • Train and assist lower level technicians when repairing HVAC equipment or replacing major components

FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS:

  • Identify and correct root cause of major fire suppression system and major component failures
  • Train lower level technicians to properly troubleshoot and repair the fire suppression system

ELECTRICAL / ELECTRONIC:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and restore programming for complex production equipment electrical and electronic systems, including PLC control systems, servos, variable frequency drives (VFD's), and other electrical and electronic devices
  • Install electrical circuits to power and control 480 volt electrical equipment
  • Train and assist lower level technicians to perform electrical maintenance tasks efficiently while following safety guidelines
  • Perform skill level appropriate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) tasks on electrical systems

WELDING:

  • Prepare equipment and materials for welding by cutting, grinding or heating as needed
  • Properly use metal working tool such as grinders, saws, drills and metal worker
  • Braze and cut metal equipment using a Oxygen and Acetylene torch
  • Make complex repairs to equipment and facilities using electric arc stick, MIG, TIG, Plasma or oxygen/acetylene equipment
  • Assist and train lower level technicians when making more complex repairs or fabrication that requires metal working and welding

ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • Stay informed by attending team meetings, reading bulletin boards and technical bulletins
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to work order (WO) completion
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to parts requisitions (Req's) completion
  • Complete accident or incident reports per company policy
  • As a Subject Matter Expert in multiple skills, perform certification of lower techs in these skills

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 7 years- experience in Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Welding, Hydraulic/Pneumatic systems, Construction Trades or Air Conditioning Maintenance

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Lift 20 lbs or more on an occasional basis

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 130 degrees.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work standing, sitting, stooping, bending, or in a prone position.
  • Must be able to work with hands over head.
  • Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
