Urban Outfitters Inc., a fashion forward, and rapidly expanding retailer, is seeking a Quality Control Coordinator to work in its Philadelphia Navy Yard home office. This positon serves as a liaison between the corporate office and distribution centers with a core focus on apparel quality assurance. Provides assistance in the coordination of quality audits, repairs, Return to Vendors (RTVs) and sale of damaged or unacceptable merchandise. The ideal candidate should have garment construction / measurement experience, and a critical eye for garment aesthetics. This experience is not required to successfully succeed in this position.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Facilitates communication related to the Quality Assurance policies of URBN Inc.
  • Facilitates communication related to vendor compliance policies of URBN Inc.

  • Key Liaison between corporate office and distribution centers to ensure quality assurance.
  • Provides insight and overview in the mediation concerning the repair of quality related incidents.
  • Provides the Distributions centers with direction concerning the resolution of compliance related violations.

  • Upholds and maintains internal and external relationships to promote the greater understanding of the integrity of URBN policies.
  • Systematic responsibility to facilitate quality and compliance related issues or concerns.
  • Responsible for preparing reports, as needed, relating to quality issues and vendor compliance.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Level of understanding in regards to retail systems such as Tradestone (PLM), Island Pacific, and PDM.
  • Administrative support for documentation of key department functionalities.
  • Responds to common inquiries or concerns from Production / Technical design / Vendors / Distribution Centers, or members of the merchant community in a timely manner
  • Applies expert knowledge in company philosophy and integrity in regards to quality and compliance expectations

Required Knowledge

  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the PLM systems

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma required; B.A. preferred
  • 3-5 years within a retail corporate environment preferred
