It is the primary responsibility of the Fountain Worker to take and input orders into Micros (Point of system), cook crepes, make coffee, deliver orders, stock merchandise, clean counters, and handle guest payment. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

  • Greets all guests in a positive, friendly manner and makes them feel welcome.
  • Takes and inputs orders into Infogenesis, receives payment and makes proper change, complete required transactions, and categorizes tendered receipts by media type.
  • Gives correct change and sales receipt, expedites the order in an accurate and timely manner and bags merchandise.
  • Follows cash handling procedures (including counting the cash, checks, charges, comps, and completing settlement paperwork as required).
  • Exhibits proper knowledge, selling techniques, and service delivery of all items.
  • Provides excellent service consistent with Forbes standards and follow sequence of service utilizing proper procedures standardized by department.
  • Resolves guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maintains composure with difficult owners and guests in demanding situations.
  • Prepares and serves food and beverage items to guest.
  • Packs the orders as per guest's preference and completes the order.
  • Anticipates the guest's needs and responds appropriately with a sense of urgency.
  • Works as a team, assisting all guests and employees needs and inquiries.
  • Bids farewell to guests, using guest's name when known, and encourages them to return.
  • Completes opening and closing duties such as setting up or breaking down work station with required place, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Inspects the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Checks production schedule and pars.
  • Establishes priority items for the day and informing the manager or Chef of any merchandise and/or supplies that need to be requisitioned.
  • Makes certain all products and supplies are rotating on a first in first out philosophy.
  • Properly labels and dates all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
  • Reads, measures and executes recipes.
  • Refills and stocks all supplies and machines within the outlet.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of Market Cafe.
  • Stocks towels in work area with proper concentration of sanitizing solution.
  • Attends staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Applies and retains knowledge covered in sessions.
  • Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, and/or alleged thefts.
  • Notifies manager on duty of any guest concerns or disputes that cannot be readily resolved.
  • Effectively communicates with management, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Is familiar with all Hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Maintains and strictly abides by State sanitation, health regulations and Hotel requirements.
  • Follows all Federal, State and Local alcohol regulations.
  • Adheres to all responsible alcohol consumption requirements.
  • Uses authority to refuse drinks to owners and guests who show signs of intoxication or disorderly conduct.
  • Performs all other job related duties as requested.

Required:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a food handler in a similar high volume restaurant environment.
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment to include, but not limited to a blenders, coffee makers, small wares equipment.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Point of Sales (POS) systems.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
