It is the primary responsibility of the Creative Manager to manage the creative and operational functions of the design team for his/her respective MGM Resorts properties. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Manage the design and creation for simple to complex, conceptual campaigns and low to high-profile design projects.
  • Manage Senior Designers and Designers to ensure designs meet corporate standards and client expectations.
  • Assist Creative Director with high-end specialty projects.
  • Monitor Production and Purchasing needs to ensure client budgets are met.
  • Schedule and monitor project timelines for creative projects.
  • Handle high volume workload, communicate project status, and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Provide input during property client meetings; offer design and cost-saving solutions based on client marketing initiatives, global trends and company positioning.
  • Lead creative brainstorming sessions.
  • Collaborate with multiple Creative positions, Account Services and clients to generate creative solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Oversees the Senior Designer supervisory responsibilities for the Junior Designer.
  • Maintain and monitor standards for respective brands and sub-brands.
  • Interface with internal departments, clients and vendors.
  • Stay current with design trends, techniques and vendor product and capabilities.
  • Plan, design and create complex, conceptual campaigns and high-profile design projects.
  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Cultivate a creative and collaborative environment to inspire design and build cohesive teams.
  • Mentor, coach and train employees on design and production
  • Monitor overtime, attendance and other HR.
  • Assist Creative Director with interviewing and making hiring recommendations.
  • Promote best practices: regularly evaluate processes, adhere to procedures.
  • Be an active member of the Management team.
  • Fully understand department processes and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.

Required:

  • College Degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in design in an agency, in-house or freelance.
  • At least 3 years of years supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience managing and designing for multiple brands in a high-volume environment.
  • Portfolio is required; must complete a design and concepting test within a specific time frame.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
