Business Context

The Talent Acquisition COE continues to evolve and organize resources to ensure it is meeting the organization's talent needs now and into the future. Critical to realizing this vision is ensuring the COE is forward looking by evaluating and adapting to new and emerging recruiting trends, technology and practices and, serving as a consultative partner to business segments – from brands and disciplines to geographic markets – by providing strategic guidance on optimizing their talent acquisition efforts.

Specific Job Summary

As a member of the Talent Acquisition COE, the Vice President, Talent Acquisition Strategies & Solutions contributes a high level of specialized knowledge, skill and consultative leadership to ensure that Marriott's recruiting strategies are innovative and enable the company to hire top talent efficiently, and that the technology engine that powers TA is both sound and stable and evolves into the future.

This position partners with the rest of the TA leadership team, continent and corporate HR teams and business leaders to evaluate, design and develop recruitment technologies, programs and processes. This role and the TA Solutions & Advisory team will work closely and collaboratively with the TA Operations & Service Delivery team to ensure there is a way to surface and diagnose advisory/solution needs and opportunities and flawless execution and delivery of identified solutions.

Expected Contributions

Talent Acquisition Research & Innovation. Provide strategic leadership that enable the COE to think big, broad and boldly to result in cutting edge TA solutions, be it technology, process or programs. In partnership with the Operations & Service Delivery and Employer Brand teams and through an ongoing evaluation of the external market, diagnose and identify opportunities for continual improvement to TA processes, systems and programs that ensure that Marriott is positioned to hire top talent globally.

  • Provide thought leadership in talent acquisition to the organization. Unearth current and future needs and trends shaping business and job seeker preferences and behaviors to inform the evolution of innovative future talent acquisition solutions for the enterprise.

  • Research and evaluate our competitive set, economic indicators and trends, and the external market at a macro level to watch for trends, insights and data to share then inform our TA systems and programs.

  • Regularly partner with other teams within the COE to drive innovation in all of Marriott's recruiting practices.

  • Instill recruiting philosophies to drive an innovation oriented recruitment culture to include a focus on candidate experience, building equity in our hiring manager and stakeholder relationships, and learning programs that upskill HMs and HR professionals on TA matters.

Strategy & Solution Development. Partner with brands, disciplines and continents to offer consultation and develop strategic, localized solutions that will help address their TA needs, and enable them to deploy strategies locally/in partnership with the COE. Identify opportunities to align segmented solutions and build toward scalable global solutions.

  • Partner with brands, disciplines, and continent HR teams to identify and evaluate trends, and design and develop segmented solutions that meet local needs.

  • Work with brands, disciplines and continent HR teams to ensure flawless deployment and execution of segmented solutions, and collaboratively put in place mechanisms to monitor their effectiveness and impact to the business.

  • Coordinate efforts to develop solutions that address common need areas across continents, brands or disciplines; provide leadership and guidance to HR leaders of business segments and drive sharing of best practices and learnings across teams.

  • Identify opportunities to align brand, discipline and continent TA programs and efforts with an eye towards building scalable global solutions that will benefit the enterprise.

Enterprise TA Solutions. Evaluate, design, and build enterprise wide TA programs with an emphasis on scalable solutions that align to needs of the organization and enable business segments and regional TA teams to deliver against their most critical talent needs.

  • Leads the design, development and ongoing optimization and improvement of global TA programs and systems that meet the needs of the organization and position Marriott to attract and select the best talent. Partner with the TA Operations & Service Delivery team who will ensure flawless deployment and execution of solutions, and collaboratively put in place mechanisms to monitor their effectiveness and impact to the business. Global programs may include those related to on-demand labor, associate referral programs, relationship recruiting and others as they arise.

  • Provide leadership to the ongoing evolution and execution of Marriott's global university recruiting programs and relationship strategies that meet the current and future talent needs of the organization.
  • In partnership with Continent and Discipline HR teams, ensure that the appropriate plans, resources and technology are in place to deliver the university graduate talent the organization needs now and in the future; support the development of long term relationships with key schools around the globe to position Marriott as the employer of choice with the next generations of talent.

  • Lead the design, development and evolution of the global Voyage program and virtual platform, together with other collegiate enterprise efforts, with a focus on delivering recruiting and learning experiences once hired that are relevant to the target audience and deliver top future management talent to the business.

  • Partner with Continents and Disciplines in the development of solutions that meet their unique needs while integrating into the broader company efforts.

  • Coordinate with other HR work streams, as needed, for planning, design and development of new innovative programs and solutions. Contributes to and manages other project-based initiatives as required.

Technology Leadership.

  • Manage a best-in-class TA technology stack inclusive of candidate relationship marketing, applicant tracking and onboarding technology

  • Ensure ongoing health of technology stack by effective management of the TA technology team

  • Nurture vendor relationships to ensure end goals with technology are being met

  • Identify opportunities to evolve current stack in order to meet business goals and stay relevant with our job seeking audience

Team Leadership.

  • Lead a team of managers and managers of others, and provide direction and guidance to Talent Acquisition resources in Operations & Service Delivery, TA Technology and the Continents on the execution of TA programs, services and systems. Manage budget for the department.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Human Resources with progressively expanding responsibilities required. 5 years or more in a managerial or project leadership role with demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams.

  • Previous experience in talent acquisition is required with direct experience in designing and developing global TA programs and systems. Experience managing teams and relationships with external vendors required.
