- Deliver orders from the warehouse to the bar outlets and restaurants.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections available.
- Assist Bartenders on the execution of service and follow the Bartender's direction.
- Empty trash.
- Wash glasses to ensure bar is fully stocked.
- Mop floors as necessary to ensure a clean, safe work area.
- Respond to Bartenders' needs by running for liquor, glassware, stock, etc.
- Perform all opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
- Properly use two-way radio, knives and pallet jacks.
- Greet guests upon arrival and departure, using guest's name when known, and encourage them to return.
- Effectively communicate with management, bartenders and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Restock ice.
- Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
- Performs all other job related duties as requested.
Required:
- Ability to use two-way radio, knives and pallet jacks.
- Working knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections available.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of previous experience as a Bar Porter.
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
