POSITION SUMMARY:

The Apprentice Bartender is primary responsibilities are maintaining, ordering and the rotation of stock in the liquor and soda room. Help control beverage costs through proper transferring of product. Daily cleaning and maintenance of bars.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean and organize bar to beverage and health department standards.
• Replenish and stock fruit trays, beer coolers and mixers.
• Ability to perform tasks that require standing and/or moving at a fast pace for periods of up to eight hours or longer.
• Ensure that bar is maintained and left stocked and cleaned for next shift.
• Ringing of all beverages poured or served.
• Deliver orders from warehouse to bars.
• Operates an electric pallet jack.
• Ensure proper set up, stocking and delivery of liquor supplies, glasses and ice.
• Require purchasing rolled coin for video poker machines for bartender.
• Complete proper paperwork for bar transfers.
• Maintains cleanliness of pump room, soda room, coolers and equipment.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:. -None-

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalent is required and six month experience in a high volume hotel/ casino or night club required.

CARE Card

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Must read, write, speak and understand the English language
• Must obtain and keep a current Mississippi Gaming Permit
• Ability to work all shifts
• Must go through electric pallet jack certification program.
• Maintain current CARES alcohol awareness certification through employment
• Be familiar with and abide by all Gold Strike policies and procedures and the Beverage departmental policies and procedures

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMAND:

• Constantly hearing, seeing, reading, writing, standing.
• Occasionally sitting, bending, smelling and tasting.
• Occasionally carrying and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs., alone, for distances up to 200 ft.
• Occasionally pushing and pulling up to a maximum of 200 lbs.
• Constantly working on concrete floors,
• Frequently heavy lifting above the head

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and in extreme outdoor temperatures.

Work with others sometimes in close spaces

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:

Regular scheduled hours. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
