It is the responsibility of the Bar Porter to maintain a clean working environment of all bars. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Maintain supplies and equipment such as ice, cups, bar towels and sanitation buckets, and any other items that the bar requires.
  • Sweep floor areas, mop floors and wash all floor mats daily.
  • Assist with deep cleaning of frozen machines.
  • Check floors and trash containers; keep floors and bar space free of debris throughout shift.
  • Maintain the hand soap dispensers and paper towels at the bar.
  • Maintain all safety and sanitation standards.
  • Respond to Bartenders' and Bar Apprentices' needs by running for liquor, glassware, stock, etc.
  • Perform all opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
  • Work as a team, assisting all guests' and employees' needs and inquiries.
  • Adhere to all health code rules and regulations.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Ability to use two-way radio, knives and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management, bartenders and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
  • Working knowledge of and comply with all departmental and property policies, procedures and standards.
  • Working knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections available.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • At least 2 years of previous experience working in a bar or similar environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
