Job Description

The Manager, Benefit Automation is a member of the Business Technology's Client Clinical Services department which handles all Formulary and Utilization Management configurations for clients and clinical solutions. You will provide project management for a project team having multiple releases throughout the year for mid to large efforts (Business Services Requests (BSRs)/Projects). You will lead a team of 5 developers and additional resources depending on project needs within a Java and Oracle environment. We're looking for a dynamic leader that can problem solve, build relationships, understands the big picture, and recognizes how the project fits into it. As the Application Development Manager you should be results oriented with a strong customer focus and proven leadership skills leading geographically dispersed colleagues and teams.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • You will assign tasks, maintain Clarity and manage project documents including: detailed requirements, test plans, change control documents, status reports, meeting minutes, budget, resource plans and completion reports.
  • You will handle project forecasts and track and lead projects from initiation to successful completion.
  • You will coordinate the activities of internal and external technical staff.
  • You will be responsible for creating, modeling and developing professional communications through the lifetime of the project.
  • You will ensure completion and approvals of all required project artifacts. Investigate, research and propose process improvement, standardize and document best practices process and procedures for the staff.
  • You will work with senior leaders across the organization.

Additionally, to be successful you will need to:

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet or exceed goals.
  • Be the single point of contact to all business for all the BSR/Project statuses.
  • Think and act strategically while anticipating business opportunities and changes and drive long-term strategies.
  • Possess integrity and the flexibility to multi-task.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a midrange technological environment exhibiting proven customer and management communication, relationship development, analytical and problem solving skills, and end-to-end experience with application development methodologies.
  • 5+ years working as a Project Manager or Functional Manager in an application development environment is required.
  • 5+ years validated experience in project management practices - planning, status reporting, issue management, risk mitigation, scope control documentation - and the use of methodologies.
  • Agile and CMMI experience preferred.
  • Capable of using Enterprise Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) like Atlas and Clarity.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Java/J2EE, user interface, angular experience
  • Experience with Oracle preferred, Teradata
  • Experience with Health Care and Claims Processing applications is preferred

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required, one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained in addition to required years of experience.
