Advance Auto Parts, Inc., a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America, serves both the professional installer and do-it-yourself customers. Advance operates approximately 5,100 stores, 126 Worldpac branches and serves approximately 1,300 independently owned CARQUEST branded stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada.

Advance Auto Parts is currently looking for an IT Director to join their Corporate Systems Team in Raleigh, NC or Roanoke, VA. The Corporate Systems Team is responsible for IT strategy, development and operations of Advance's "back office" systems. Our HR systems service over 70,000 team members daily while our financial systems enable billions of dollars of transactions with both our suppliers and customers annually. Transformation is the focus as we are replacing aged systems and embracing software-as-a-service (SaaS).

As the IT Director leading HR and Finance, you will:

  • Define the HR and Finance enterprise systems roadmap in conjunction with the Business and IT Enterprise Architecture teams
  • Provide Application Development, Unit / Integration Testing and Implementation services for the HR and Finance domains
  • Drive adherence to sprint and / or project milestones, including implementing appropriate corrective actions when progress deviates from plan
  • Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with business leaders, staff and support partners / vendors
  • Define and maintain an effective labor sourcing strategy including where appropriate outsourcing and managed services agreements

We're looking for individuals that possess:

  • Demonstrated change management leadership, championing and driving both organizational and technological change with the goal of continuously improving Advance Auto Parts' ability to serve our customers better than anyone else
  • Be the primary champion across IT for the HR and Finance function; drive continuous improvements across the corporate systems landscape
  • Direct experience with developing, and operating in, flexible labor strategies, including out-sourcing / off-shoring
  • Proven ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across all lines of business and technology platforms
  • Experience developing multi-million dollar department / organization budgets and effectively planning and managing activities within the established budget

Job Requirements Required Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years direct senior IT leadership experience and understanding of all aspects of a large scale HR and Finance function and related applications including Payroll, Time and Attendance, Document Management, GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, ePro, and Budgeting / Planning
  • Must have experience with Oracle EBS Financials, PeopleSoft Financials or SAP ERP.
  • Must have demonstrated, proven experience managing department budgets
  • Demonstrated, proven experience integrating with and/or migrating to SaaS solutions

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Experience and/or in-depth knowledge/understanding of Workday
  • Demonstrated experience delivering business applications in the Distribution, Retail, eCommerce or Direct-to-Customer verticals
  • Strong experience leading others in Lean and/or Agile methodologies; experience working in a product centric organization

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

Preferred Education:

  • Master's Degree
