Lead Developer - PeopleSoft

This position works on a very collaborative team responsible for new development, enhancements and support of a high visibility program. This position is a technical resource in a complex technical & professional discipline, seen as a leader in that field within the organization. This position supports, customizes, configures, and enhances the PeopleSoft HCM application. This position understands the work processes of assigned business areas, collects user requirements and translates them into well-engineered, tested, and deployed business application solutions. Responsibilities include the analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of information. Works independently with limited work direction.

What is the work?

Design & Development:

• Participate in work sessions with functional teams; able to demonstrate delivered PeopleSoft functionality to meet business needs
• Leverages detailed specifications and Center of Excellence (CoE)-approved languages and developmental tools to assist experienced developers in coding / configuring, maintaining, testing, and debugging modifications to existing applications of basic to high complexity, or executing the same in the development of new applications
• Leads the development of detailed specifications
• Leads research and fact-finding efforts needed to develop or modify basic to high complexity information systems
• Troubleshoots coding / configuration / installation issues of basic to high complexity; works with software vendors as needed
• Serves as technical lead on projects, enhancements, and initiatives of basic to high complexity
• Provides work breakdown structures, cost, and resource estimates
• Leads software development efforts (coding, configuration, maintenance, installation, testing, and debugging), managing timelines, and technical documentation
• Identifies, defines, and designs non-functional requirements into solution design, and ensuring implementation
• Creates system or application design, and functions as a Solution Architect as needed
• Serves as a functional expert for one or more lines of business
• Contributes to improving the efficiency of Software Development Life Cycle best practices and standards
• Uses / leads the refinement of CoE-related tools, standards, and training

Communications:

• Actively engages and collaborates with broader cross-functional / technical teams to ensure timely and quality solution delivery
• Proactively communicates development status, issues, and concerns to management with mitigation recommendations

What is your background?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience
• 9 - 12 years of experience
• PeopleSoft HCM 9.2: expert knowledge of PeopleTools 8.55 including IB web services, application packages, AWE, PeopleCode, integration broker, application engine, component interface, fluid user interface (UI), work centers, activity guides, pivot grids and Oracle SQL
• Expertise in retrofitting customized objects (components, pages, fields, records, modified PeopleCode, etc.)
• Experience with migration tools, analyzing and retrofitting PUM images.
• Strong functional understanding of HCM modules including Core HR, NA Payroll, BenAdmin, MSS, ESS.
• Experience with Retail Payroll and HR a plus
• PS Admin experience a plus
• Experience in leading the development phases of the Software Development Life Cycle on typical projects (feasibility, planning, analysis, development, integration, and test and implementation)
• Proficiency in system administration of at least one enterprise-class application suite
