Job Summary: The Blooms Floral Designer will execute creative designs received from the Blooms Design Studio Manager, and assist in production of special event orders.
Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as necessary):
Role Fundamentals:
- Executes individualized floral creations received from the Design Studio Manager
- Assists in production of walk-in order requests and orders for special events
- Replicates pre-designed floral arrangements on a large scale for mass-marketing, as needed
- Monitors quality control in accordance with product specifications
- Assists in preparing final orders by packing and loading products
- Maintains safety / sanitation of production area and its equipment
- Assists with Receiver duties, including packing, loading, and unloading
- Assists in administrative, maintenance, set-up, and tear-down, and other duties as needed
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2 years of experience in the floral industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of flowers and arrangement techniques
- Proficiency in MS Office, and H-E-B systems and equipment
Preferred Key Competencies
- Creative design ability; collaboration skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task when necessary
- Ability to work as part of a team, especially during high-volume seasons
- Ability to understand and follow Quality, Environment, and Safety (QES) standards
Physical and Other Requirements
The essential physical requirements of the role include:
- Occasionally: sits, reaches at overhead, reaches at shoulder, reaches at knee, reaches at floor, bends, stoops, squats, crouches, kneels, climbs stairs, pivots, twists, pushes/pulls with arms
- Frequently: stands, walks, reaches at waist, grasps, pinches, performs fine motor movements
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
- Must be able to manage in excess of 55 lbs.
- It is the responsibility of the individual partner to never lift beyond his/her own safe lifting limit. If the partner feels that an item is too heavy to lift, push/pull, and/or carry, the partner must: (1) break the box down into lighter/smaller, more manageable components, which he/she is comfortable with safely handling; (2) ask for assistance from another partner; or (3) ask for assistance from a manager.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- Occasionally exposed to hot (non-weather,) ambient temperatures, and loud noise.
- Frequently exposed to wet and cold (non-weather) conditions.
