As a Tech Services Manager I, you will coordinate the efforts of the Threat and Vulnerability Management team, including staff, technology, projects, and incident response. You will provide support across H-E-B, including IT, HR, privacy, loss prevention, fraud, legal, and other departments; and will identify security initiatives and standards.

We are looking for:

  • a Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • Supervisory/Management experience
  • A solid technical background in system delivery including managing and securing infrastructure

What is the work? (Other duties may be assigned as necessary)

  • Work is received in the form of objectives based on organizational goals and company policy
  • Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization's objectives, including but not limited to total cost of ownership of technology solutions, maximization of third-party models, promoting cross-functional skill development of Partners, and maintaining positive customer relationships

Management:

  • Hires, fires, promotes, demotes, transfers, disciplines, grants raises—or effectively recommends such actions
  • Manages, develops, and trains teams to achieve department goals; develops / delegates tasks necessary to complete projects; manages communications with direct reports, peers, and senior management
  • Provides leadership and expertise to functional teams and participates in cross-functional initiatives
  • Leads, coaches, and provides effective feedback
  • Supports / creates effective teams, units, environments
  • Communicates how Partners impact operational objectives
  • Influences / drives human change management
  • Contributes to capital planning, budgeting, and vendor selection and management
  • Manages planning, installation, and maintenance of technical infrastructure that supports critical business needs; includes hardware, software, servers, storage solutions, and networks
  • Identifies technology problems or potential system upgrades; works with IT Leadership to determine the appropriate actions to meet technology goals / needs
  • Manages planned or unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting or root cause analysis, and problem resolution; minimizes downtime and service disruptions
  • Serves as the primary source of feedback to upper management
  • Ensures all technology decisions align with H-E-B's enterprise technology direction, with a focus on total cost of ownership

Analytics:

  • Identifies key performance / capacity metrics; monitors system performance and service level requirements
  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues; recommends appropriate actions and variances
  • Monitors service level agreements and key service delivery performance indicators or metrics; identifies areas where performance can be improved through infrastructure changes

Strategy:

  • Works with leadership to identify infrastructure-related initiatives and needs; designs and implements solutions
  • Develops long-term infrastructure plans and architectures considering trends in the field and changing organizational needs
  • Collaborates with the Infrastructure Architecture team in setting strategy, direction, and technology roadmaps

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • 1 – 3 years experience leading operational security programs
  • 1-3 years experience in leading a patch management program and/or vulnerability scanning/remediation program.

Preferred Key Competencies

  • Extensive expertise / knowledge in enterprise patch management,. Including tools, processes, and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of utilizing information technology to achieve desired results
  • Excellent verbal / written / listening communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership, judgment, creativity, and project / problem management skills; analytical / research skills
  • Ability to work effectively within all levels of the organization
  • Ability to foster teamwork and build collaborative relationships

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment
  • Travel by car or airplane with overnight stays
  • Sit for an extended period of time
