Your Responsibilities

As a Product Analyst, Digital Commerce at Choice Hotels International, you will help evolve choicehotels.com on desktop and mobile devices, the primary touch points and most profitable channels for customers as they shop, book, and manage hotel reservations.

As a member of the product team, you will lead projects to discover, refine, and deliver new capabilities and improved experiences for users of choicehotels.com. You will work hands-on with product owners, user researchers, designers, software developers, and partners in business units across the company to pursue the highest impact work and create measurable results. As product needs arise, this role may serve the product owner role for Agile Scrum teams as needed.

Discover

  • Gather and analyze data to identify and assess product enhancement opportunities
  • Collaborate with partners in other business units to explore product development ideas and develop business cases
  • Estimate user impact, financial results, costs, and risks to guide critical prioritization decisions
  • Partner with user research team to facilitate user research activities, analyze results and make recommendations
  • Conduct review and analysis of peers and competitors in hospitality, ecommerce, and other consumer web experiences to identify additional opportunities

Refine

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to refine highest impact projects to be pursued by the team, including work to define features to be delivered and reduce risks
  • Identify and document key assumptions, method for evaluating success, and plan for testing and review
  • Distill product enhancements into user stories with key supporting documents gathered from software architects, user experience designers, third-party vendors, etc.

Deliver

  • Work closely with software development teams to be highly responsive in answering questions and providing supporting documents for work underway
  • Coordinate priorities and delivery timelines with other product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • Provides structured and ad hoc analysis of data to evaluate success of initiatives, share results with business partners, and provide operational support
  • Serve role of Product Owner for Agile Scrum teams as needed

Education, Experience, Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) required
  • Education concentrated in business and technology fields is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a product analyst, business analyst, or similar role
  • Expertise in and experience with consumer-facing mobile web and/or apps is highly preferred
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and associated tools (Rally, Jira, Confluence) preferred
  • Excel proficiency required
  • Experience working with web analytics and A/B testing software preferred
