About this job

  • Understand the internal landscape of our HR Operations; our culture, values and our current processes, having a clear perspective on how everything fits together
  • Partner with our temporary HR Generalist to craft a job description and launch a search for a permanent HR Generalist for your team
  • Be the go to expert in areas such as employment records; benefits; visas and our HRIS
  • Partner and mentor the team members supporting our onboarding and offboarding programs
  • Ensure we a compliant with all labor law regulations; stay update-to-date on all employment law changes
  • Act with the employee experience in mind, constantly seeking feedback, finding ways to make improvements and maintaining great relationships based on trust and respect

WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU WILL

  • Take ownership of our Learning and Development program: analyze opportunities to enhance our offerings, develop and facilitate organizational and skill-specific training sessions, and track success, effectiveness, and participation
  • Partner with management to resolve employee relations issues; provide coaching and counseling to management and staff; collaborate with legal counsel on issues as appropriate
  • Maintain our current processes and continually develop greater efficiencies in our HR systems
  • Support the performance management and compensation review process to ensure consistent and fair decisions are made regarding promotions, and bonus and salary increases; provide training and counseling on the performance management process
  • Lead and support the strategy for the HR roadmap; suggesting areas for improvement and ensuring that the team has all the resources needed and deliverables scoped out to be successful

WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Surprised us with new creative ways to delight our employees and create great experiences for them
  • Developed strong relationships with managers, employees and the leadership team
  • Become the go-to authority on all things related to HR Operations
  • Simplified our processes to ensure they are consistent and repeatable as well as completely aligned to supporting the business and culture we are building
  • Assumed responsibility for the budget for the Human Resources department
  • Improved our systems to better support our core processes, with as much as possible automated
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations and ensured consistency with HR industry practices
  • Reevaluated our programs and policies; these areas might include updates and changes to the employee handbook, leave of absence, and total rewards offerings - benefits, perks, etc.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • 8+ years working as a Sr. Manager of HR, Director, or equivalent in a rapidly growing technology environment
  • Experience managing a team
  • Ability and experience scaling an HR operations function in a fast growing, start up company
  • HR Knowledge; strong knowledge in all areas of HR and employment law (including for a non-exempt workforce) as well as experience managing large HR Systems like Ultipro
  • Familiarity managing global HR
  • Data driven; ability to make decisions with the right mixture of analysis, wisdom, and judgement
  • Process design; experience designing simple, repeatable processes, creating clear project plans with efficient workflows, and finding opportunities for constant improvement
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and project management skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically and tactically while also managing details
  • Strong desire to help others and intellectual curiosity about people and organization issues
  • Effective influencer, communication, and interpersonal skills; great listener
