IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Sr. Director

Position Summary

Join Fortune 7 CVS Health on our executive IT team as a Sr. Director of IT Disaster Recovery. The Enterprise Disaster Recovery Program Sr. Director is responsible for the strategy, governance and daily operations for CVS Health's Disaster Recovery Program. In this high profile role, you will lead business continuity strategy and operations for the Technology Operations and Innovation department. You will strategize and create disaster recovery strategy recommendations to our world class executive IT panel. You will research emerging technologies and integrate the latest methodologies and emerging technologies into CVS Health's multi-faceted IT infrastructure.

You will direct the large enterprise development of advanced arrangements and procedures to ensure the organization can respond to a disaster so that the critical business functions can be resumed within a defined time frame, Recovery Time objective (RTO) and the amount of loss can be minimized, Recovery Point Objective (RPO). You will also be responsible for directing the design, development, maintenance and exercising (testing) of the overall disaster recovery plans for each critical functional area of the organization.

As Executive of IT Disaster Recovery you will:

Program manage the overall CVS health IT disaster recovery implementation inclusive of infrastructure, application and process components. Provide visionary and strategic direction for IT disaster recovery including (but not limited to) site failover, application level failover, data center strategy, & cloud initiatives. Lead internal and external teams to enhance and grow the IT disaster recovery. Lead the ongoing operational run of the IT disaster recovery to include integration of incident, change and problem management. Orchestrate the execution of the disaster recovery plan(s) when a business or IT disruption occurs and a disaster is declared. Partner with peers in the infrastructure and application teams to advance the Disaster Recovery program. Collaborate with IT Operations to ensure replication occurs and processes are active and efficient. Create and modify Technical Recovery Plans in coordination with Application Development teams, and lead test plans throughout year to ensure 100% compliance with real-time systems. Partner with Risk Management to coordinate Business Recovery Plans with the IT Disaster Recovery exercise. Assume operations leadership responsibility for large enterprise data center disaster recovery, with a major focus on ensuring the adequacy of end-state production recovery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strongly perferred: Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) through DRI International or BCI Certification through BCI Institute
• Strong human relations skills to collaborate with management and staff at all levels within
• Ability to plan, organize and direct the testing of emergency response and recovery support t he organization and to look after vendors of record, storage, facilities and disaster recovery services.
• Strong oral and written interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of information technology in order to participate in the prep and roll out of recovery procedures in this area. ∙ Working knowledge of data and voice telecommunications.
• Project management skills.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years overall experience in information technology
• Minimum of 6 years experience with Disaster Recovery Program for a large organization (500+ D/R plans)
• Minimum of 6 years w orking with Executive / Senior Management and Business Continuity teams
• Minimum of 5 years experience with current disaster recovery planning strategies, techniques and technologies as well as the methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses.
• Minimum of 5 years vendor and contract management experience in looking after Disaster Recovery service providers.
