Job Summary

Responsible for providing research and operational information to assist management in achieving strategic plans; providing regional analysis for district reporting on a regular basis to optimize quality and patient safety; verification of test and pilot activities related to Quality Event tracking system development, software revisions, and user procedures; recommending and creating training procedures related to Quality Event tracking system software development, revisions, and user procedures as needed; creating additional tools for quality reporting; identifying and working with departments to update/revise areas of policy and procedure that affect quality chain wide.

Job Responsibilities:

* Acts as a liaison between Field and the Support Center for quality related concerns and questions. Supports Field leadership by acting as SME for policy and procedure as they relate to quality.

* Generates reports and provides corrective action recommendations to identify quality opportunities for pharmacists.

* Conducts microanalysis of external events and provides data and recommendations to district, area and regional leaders.

* Monitors and assists with pilot program implementation for quality improvements.

* Conducts Ad Hoc quality reporting for Field leadership.

* Researches and implements new procedures to respond to drug recalls.

* Collaborates with IT team in developing Quality Event tracking system Internal Report.

* Rebuilds and implements new external events data base.

* Assists in implementation and organization of the Patient Safety Organization

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 3 years of experience years of experience in a pharmacy environment or in the health care industry.

* Pharmacy technician licensure in good standing or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of starting position.

* Knowledge of one of the following; IT, Accounting, Finance, Statistics.

* Experience analyzing data to provide recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.

* Experience presenting to and coordinating senior level meetings, including preparation of agendas, documenting meeting minutes, sending out documents to attendees.

* Experience collaborating with internal resources and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.

* Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).

* Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: changing picture styles, customizing animation and/or setting automatic slide timings).

* Advanced level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: adding developer tab, creating a macro, formatting table style, inserting comments and/or creating a mail merge).

* Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

* At least 1 year of experience in a pharmacy environment or in the health care industry.

* Experience with a Quality Event tracking system.

* Experience with a pharmacy fulfillment system.

* Experience with Business Objects, Corporate Editor, WEB SDL Project Portfolio Management.

* Knowledge of third party administration.

* Experience as a pharmacy technician at a Walgreen Family of Companies pharmacy.
