Swim Instructor - Part-time

Aqua-Tots Swim Schools is currently accepting resumes for Aquatics Manager position at our West Des Moines Facility.

With this position, You DO NOT have to have experience teaching swim lessons but is a strong plus. You do need to have some experience working and managing people, training and love working with children! Candidates must be FUN, ENERGETIC, and OUTGOING self-starters with lots of initiative who love working with children and the public and a true desire to work with and develop a team of instructors.

We are looking for responsible team player who are willing to go the extra mile in helping children become water safe and learn to swim. This is a high energy job that requires coming to work with a great attitude and ready to have fun every day. Candidate should be outgoing, positive, smiling, and excel in communicating with parents, children and staff.

Ideal candidates have a true desire to teach, coach, train and develop staff and children. This position can require doing multiple things:

• You will teach lessons as well as spend a majority of your time on the pool deck observing lessons, giving feedback and training to instructors on how to improve their skills.
• You will be accountable to uphold the Aqua Tots curriculum, ensure children are progressing in their lessons, introduce new kids to our program and their team.
• Also involved in the hiring and managing of employee staff. Ensure staff is following policies, monthly development meetings with staff, ongoing coaching, new hire training as well.
• You will also be required to teach lessons and be willing to help out in the water whenever needed.
• You will work with the General Manager to ensure water safety and lessons are being done to our standard.

This is can be a part time or full-time position between 15-25 hours a week. It requires mostly afternoon and early evening hours and Saturday am. While times and schedules can vary a little its a fairly set schedule and as a leadership position can require extra time if needed.

This is hands on multi-tasking and requires decision making and being able to adapt to a situation quickly.
