About this job

Responsible for complete supply chain of imported goods from product ready to ship from vendors at origin through delivery to Medline DC's and direct to Medline customers.
Determine, audit and provide shipping and charges information for brokerage, ocean freight, inland freight and other costs associated with the delivery of goods. Ensure correct costs are billed from negotiated rates.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Auditing and approving charges for brokerage, ocean freight, inland freight and other charges associated with the cost of delivery the goods to our DC's ensuring correct costs are billed from negotiated rates
  • Provide proper entry information to US government, ocean carriers, truckers and customs brokers to insure Medline compliance with US regulations for importation of goods
  • Works very closely with Operations Manager in managing and updating internal as well as Service Providers SOP'S
  • Works closely with Operations Manager on process improvements and developing and managing Team and Service Providers KPI's
  • Generate and audit shipping information from various sources into SAP for complete supply chain visibility. Includes all processes from container setup through release of goods and delivery to DC's
  • Developing training manuals and materials and looking for the most efficient way of supporting Import Operations
  • Demonstrate a good decision-making skills and ability to prioritize daily task. The right candidate will be a go to person for many Team responsibilities
  • Collaborate with all Divisions and other Supporting Teams
  • Coordinate import and export shipments between customs brokers, inventory management, vendors, divisions and warehouse
  • Lead Team Expert for FDA, CBP and Financial responsibilities
  • Assist Supervisor and Manager with any project and/or assignments
Qualification

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Logistics, Transportation, Finance, Business, or 5 years of industry experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience with a freight forwarder or custom house broker.
Additional
  • This position requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to enternal vendors/ partners, senior executive management, and all other levels of personnel throughout the organazation. This includes excellent skills in oral and written communication
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel required, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, previous experiece with SAP highly preferred
