POSITION SUMMARY (convey level of autonomy or level of authority)

 

The primary responsibilities of the Children's Center cook is to oversee and maintain lower level Snoasis, & Blue Room kitchen activities in an orderly and consistent fashion. The Cook is held accountable for the production of hot and cold food and supervision of employees involved in production and related area.(i.e. servers, helpers, etc.) The Cook is also responsible for maintaining equipment in the work area, consistently following WPR policies and procedures. and following and implementing Colorado State Department of health Codes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (list in order of importance)
  • Report to work at specified time in proper uniform.
  • Daily preparation of food for all programs in the Children’s
  • Center as well as for an outlying serving area.
  • Organize the flow of work in the most efficient manner.
  • Coordinate and meet time schedules for all programs in the Children’s Center
  • Keep serving lines adequately stocked with food.
  • Insure adequate preparation and planning for next day’s anticipated needs.
  • Plan for the efficient use and proper storage of leftover foods.
  • Keep daily records of number of lunches served in each room in the Children’s Center.
  • Insure sanitary cleanliness of entire kitchen.
  • Enforce Colorado Department of Health regulations.
  • Food preparation for up to 1000 children and adults
  • Responsible for keeping knives sharpened, and kitchen utensils clean and in appropriate places.
  • Document and report food or supply losses due to theft or spoilage, or waste.
  • Maintain a friendly, congenial, and helpful attitude while effectively dealing with      
  • the guests, children and other employees.
  • Report and/or correct unsafe conditions which may affect employee or public safety
  • Perform other duties as directed.
