Job Description:
Machinist will repair and manufacture mining and process equipment including mills, crushers, screens, shredders, conveyors and pumps, operating mainly large lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills.
Work Environment:
We serve our customers in the mining, oil and gas, as well as aggregates industries. We serve also some other process industries, such as pulp and paper. We are well positioned in all of our customer industries, either globally or in a selected niche market.
Our products range from mining and aggregates processing equipment and systems to industrial valves and controls. Our customers are supported by a broad scope of services and a global network of over 80 service centers and about 6,000 services professionals. . Qualifications: 5+ years of machining
Manual machining background with some CNC abilities
Vertical boring mill experience
Experience with large parts
Ability to read and understand shop drawings and welding details, set-up and adjust equipment to machine pieces within tolerances required (.0005-.001)
3-axis is sufficient
Can program at the head Performance Expectations: Must be flexible with hours and OT.
Best candidates are experienced with large vertical boring mills but can tackle other machines as well. This includes Bridgeport mills, engine lathes, keysetters, drill press, large lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills. Best come from a heavy industrial setting. The average part is at least 20,000 lbs.
Day one: perform simple to complex machine setups with little to no assistance. Most of the work is done on a Skoda vertical boring mill. The second most-used machine is a Collet horizonal boring mill. These machines are used to repair mining equipment.
Disqualifiers: no experience with large parts. Additional Compensation: 1st shift position 6:30am-3:00PM
Must be willing to work on a second shift if need and need to be open to working on Saturdays.
The second shift is 4pm-12AM
Most employees are working 10-12 hour shifts right now.
