Enter and update products, pricing, and manufacturer information into the computer system. Creating and processing of referrals, prescriptions, delivery and pick-up tickets. vResponsibilities include; Answering phone calls for the team they are assigned. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential:

* Provide functional assistance and coordination of assignments with Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS) to ensure equipment services are provided in a time frame consistent with department goals.

* Schedule patient appointments in MiChart system within Quality Improvement timelines. Schedule blocks in MiChart and the RTS/RST Outlook schedule as needed.

* Enter order, product, HCPC coding, pricing and manufacturer information into the computer system.

* Verify insurance coverage, eligibility and benefit information. Obtain referrals as required by insurance. Explain coverage and co-pays to the patient or referral sources as appropriate.

* Pre-qualify the patient for their equipment based on patient's insurance guidelines.

* Complete patient demographics and link appropriate ICD10 codes in computer system.

* Print prescriptions for Physician signature via method set by the department.

* Process orders per department guidelines.

* Lead quality improvement or Lean project(s) with reporting of metric based results.

* Assist supervisor with the development and implementation of department and new employee training.

* Obtain and process pricing quotations from various manufacturers.

Other Related Duties:

* Monitor PM&R rental/loaner wheelchairs per department guidelines.

* Assist Authorization CSR's with required documentation for order processing.

* Work open order report and various reports as needed.

* Establish and maintain electronic and hardcopy files per department guidelines.

* Register patient in electronic medical records system per department guidelines.

* Verify Physical/Occupational Therapy insurance coverage.

* Follow department guidelines for phone calls, fax and email.

* Complies with all University of Michigan and departmental standards and expectations.

* Supports the department's commitment to continuous improvement activities and principles through positive and respectful contribution in all problem-solving and change processes.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

* A high school diploma.

* Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously.

* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft programs

* Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English

* Manual dexterity to perform required activity proficiently and safely.

* Ability to sit for an extended period of time; greater than four hours

Desired Qualifications*

* Good working knowledge of medical terminology.

* Experience in working with health care professionals is preferred.

* 5 years' experience in Complex Rehabilitation Technology is desired.
