Seamstress / Tailor

A local, well established manufacturing company is looking for a skilled sewer / designer with experience operating Walking Foot / Serger sewing machines who can deliver seamstress quality, preferably with experience using other materials (canvas, etc.)

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

• Developing new patterns and creating sewn textile prototypes which meet customer requirements and quality objectives per company’s quality policy.

• Document all design and development processes, including creation of specifications and other documentation necessary for subsequent production.

• Maintaining quality records as required by company’s quality policies and procedures.

• Working in conjunction with the Production Manager in order to supervise all industrial production in the plant while ensuring compliance with the company’s quality standards and customer specifications.

•Operation of Walking Foot Sewing Machine at an expert level.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS

Must be able to understand and create sewing patterns and fabrics.

Must have more than 3 years of experience with walking foot industrial sewing machines.

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and able to change projects back and forth as job demands. Sewing test REQUIRED when interviewing.

Must have good communication skills and be able to read English proficiently.
