Ashley HomeStores – Merchandising Assistant

Ashley HomeStore is an American furniture store chain that sells Ashley Furniture products. Opened in 1997, the chain comprises over 450 HomeStore locations in North America and 520 locations worldwide. The Central NJ location is responsible for six stores and is opening a seventh store in Staten Island in the next few months. Ashley HomeStore CNJ-SI (Central NJ/Staten Island) has approximately 150 employees. The North Brunswick location is headquarters for the Corporate Office, Distribution Center, Warehouse and one of the six retail stores. They are open 21 hours a day, seven days a week.

We are looking to fill a Merchandising Assistant position in our Central NJ location. This is the perfect job for someone who likes to work with their hands, and not sit at a desk all day. The Merchandising Support Assistant will work with the design team in each store, assisting with setting up displays that ensure The Ultimate 5-Star Guest experience for all of our customers. You will unload all store shipments and prepare items for display ( ncluding but not limited to building furniture), ensure timely execution and maintenance of all merchandise plans to meet company standards (removing sold furniture samples, moving furniture and setting up displays), maintain the organization and cleanliness of all in-store warehouses and closets, assist in maintaining store merchandise, making sure each piece is “showroom ready” and ensuring all merchandise is free from damage and missing parts.

 

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a High School diploma (or equivalent) along with experience in general maintenance and a valid NJ Driver’s License. Technical aptitude (Microsoft Word and Excel) is essential for success, along with a positive, can-do attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
