Job Description
- Food manufacturing facility located in Elk Grove Village, IL is expanding and needs to hire a Production Shift Manager on 1st shift.
- This role will lead to a Production Manager in 1-3 years
- Our client is looking for less than 7 years of manufacturing experience, someone that is looking for expansive responsibilities and to grow their career

Responsibilities
- Supervise plant production line workers with an emphasis on teamwork, safety and excellent practices to produce the highest quality products
- Manage a team of 20-30 hourly employees across multiple departments and lines
- Utilize lean and six-sigma principles to implement continuous improvement methodologies to increase production
- Maintain production records in MS Excel and ensure production workers are completing records correctly and in a timely manner.
- Analyze production runs and make suggestions for improvement
- Manage, evaluate and train staff by coaching, conducting performance appraisals, administering corrective action, and training
- Identify issues related to quality, safety, down time, production problems or any other unexpected issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required. Prefer in Operations Management, Organizational Leadership, Business, Engineering or similar
- 3-7 years manufacturing supervision experience, open to any industry
- Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, six-sigma or other continuous improvement tools
- Former military veterans is a plus
- Good attitude, hard working, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to think outside the box and use root cause analysis to solve problems
- Able to work in a high-speed facility with the capability of tracking KPI's, efficiencies and implementing lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
- Computer literate in spreadsheet and word applications
