Job Description
The Taproom at Ithaca Beer Company is Seeking a General Manager for our Taproom Restaurant. The Ithaca Beer Taproom is a farm-to-table restaurant featuring chef-inspired dishes sourced from regional purveyors and growers. We feature a seasonal, large outdoor patio and Beer Garden for guests to enjoy our expansive lawn. We offer top notch hospitality in a high-volume restaurant, with a focus on casual fare such as house-made charcuterie, local grass-fed beef hamburgers, artisan wood-fired pizzas, and salads using ingredients fresh from our expansive on-site gardens which provide a majority of our summer produce.
Key Requirements:
· Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends, with flexible hours
· At least 2 years management experience in a restaurant
· Empathy for employees and guests alike
· Ability to engage situations with a calm demeanor and strong de-escalation techniques
· Strong organizational (computer and otherwise) skills
· Ability to communicate clearly and productively across several departments
· Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, working in hot conditions and lifting heavy objects
· Familiarity with POS systems (Micros)
· Familiarity with ADP preferred
Responsibilities:
· Hands-on management of floor during service, pitching in where needed
· Ensuring highest quality customer experience (resolving any issues as they arise while maintaining an eye for needs before they become issues)
· Understanding of and ability to perform inventory, ordering, scheduling
· Collaborating with Management and Owner to continually improve our product including everything from aesthetics to service
· Procuring and interviewing potential new hires
· Oversee training of new hires while providing ongoing educational opportunities for our staff
· Employee reviews at least once per year
· Provide Social media opportunities to our marketing department
· Respond to customer feedback
· Update menus, POS system on a daily/weekly basis
· Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
· Oversee Payroll via ADP
