General Function
Provide customers total solutions to their battery, bulb, and device repair problems while doing so in a courteous, professional and helpful manner. Assist the owners in managing payroll, inventory and supply costs. Train new hires and coach retail employees.
Essential Responsibilities (other duties as assigned
Leadership
· Understand the operating model held by the franchise owner
· Help to train new employees and continue with their development by coaching and leading by example
· Develop ideas for in-store promotions, community involvement and team incentives
Manage customer relations
Customer Service / Sales
· Greet customers, determine needs and answer questions
· Suggest and sell add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities in order to achieve sales and profit goals
· Ask questions to identify potential commercial customers
· Operate computer/cash register to complete sales transactions with accuracy
· Answer phones, ensuring messages are relayed
· Assist in achieving retail and commercial sales initiatives
· Watch for loss prevention issues and advise management of any unusual activities
· Function as a team player doing whatever is necessary to help attain company goals
· Demonstrate a customer-first mentality
· Provide store tours to introduce other products/services to customers
· Must achieve selling expectations measured by lines per ticket and upselling metrics
Merchandising / Inventory
· Assist in all store operations responsibilities as assigned by Franchise Owner
· Rotate and stock inventory as required or directed
· Test batteries, perform diagnostics/tests and install batteries as needed on cell phones, laptops, watches, key fobs and/or automobiles/trucks, as required
· Perform technical work to build or repair or design battery packs, if needed
· Load, unload, and deliver or arrange delivery of product to customers or via third party delivery companies
· Organize daily recovery of displays to achieve full store appearance
· Maintain retail shelf label pricing
· Build displays; setting up & taking down shelves and fixtures
· Prepare store for daily opening and closing including counting and reconciling register drawers
· Maintain physical facility safety and appearance including: removing snow, sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors and/or cleaning sidewalk in front of and behind store. Maintain restroom cleanliness, keep wastebaskets/garbage emptied and clean any windows, counters or glass
· Follow all safety rules and regulations; wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
· H.S. diploma/equivalent and 3 years prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior retail experience desired but not required
· Prior experience with batteries, lighting and/or electronics is a plus
· Ability to gain quick and solid understanding of company’s electronic retail and cross reference system; capable of adapting learning to incorporate new technology
· Ability to make decisions and use sound judgment within standardized procedures
· Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus; general knowledge of customer service policies/procedures; strong written skills a plus
· Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills
· Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks to effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects
· Ability to calculate simple math, percentages, ratios and algebraic expressions and read gauges
· Demonstrated technical aptitude and or technical experience desired
· Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
Working Environment
The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations, if necessary and/or as required by law, will be made available.
· This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk, hear and lift up to 50 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and lift more than 50 pounds.
· The position also requires the employee to occasionally use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, and a company automobile.
· While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The level of noise in the working environment is moderate.
· Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
· Drug screening may be performed prior to hire date and randomly during employment.
