Retail Sales Associate

The Chocolate House is a specialty collection of chocolate bars and products from all over world. We focus on bean-to-bar, fine chocolate makers to showcase in our retail store. We're passionate about the chocolate product, the makers, and the farmers and origins that are represented.

At The Chocolate House, we specialize in finding amazing, artisan chocolate. We research and taste every chocolate before adding to our collection and are committed to supporting fair & sustainable bean to bar manufacturers. In addition to bean to bar chocolate, we carry a selection of bars and confections made by exceptional chocolatiers. Job Description We are looking for a passionate, reliable, & fun person to join our team as a retail sales associate.

JOB DUTIES

• Welcome guests to our store with kindness, hospitality, and enthusiasm for our chocolate.
• Provide intuitive, effective customer service through education, connection, and recommendation.
• Take pride in the appearance of the store and presentation of our products, working hard to maintain appealing displays and merchandising.
• Engage and educate customers on the basics of chocolate and the distinctions between makers.
• Master the craft of preparing our chocolate beverages, including hot chocolate and brewed chocolate.
• Process cash and credit card payment accurately and efficiently.
• General opening, closing, and sidework duties, including cleaning, stocking, and display setup.
• Keep the store stocked with packaging and shipping materials as needed.
• Package and ship mail orders

• Upbeat, enthusiastic ‘people person’ with sales instinct and a passion for customer service and connection.
• Able to distill large concepts - the chocolate making process, for instance - and communicate about them in a compelling, engaging, and delicious way.
• Innate curiosity and drive for continuous education and improvement.
• Flexible and ready to jump into new tasks
• Experience in the food or coffee industry preferred. Retail sales and customer service background (especially food-related) helps, too.
