Job Description

PURPOSE:

Performs inside and outside sales and customer service functions with enthusiasm and a passion for the fine arts industry.

 

REPORTS TO:

Ownership Team, primarily Master Gemologist

 

SUPERVISES:

None

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or

2. At least six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  1. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  2. Must be able to use a computer and be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
  3. Possess the ability to make independent decisions when the circumstances warrant such action.
  4. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all visitors to the store, as well as with fellow employees.
  5. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  6. Must be capable of functioning independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.
  7. Must report to work at scheduled time prepared to perform duties of position.
  8. Knowledge and understanding of visual merchandising.
  9. Ability to have part time work schedule, including weekend availability.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to work primarily in an office/store area, as well as throughout jewelry store storage areas.
  2. Able to sit, stand, bend, squat, twist and move intermittently throughout his/her regularly scheduled day.
  3. Able to lift, push, pull and move objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
  4. Able to work with frequent interruptions.
  5. Able to communicate and interact with personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions/circumstances.
  6. Willing to work beyond normal hours, on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  7. Willing to participate in continuing education programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide Customer Service with utmost dedication and confidentiality to the specifications of the customer.

2. Regular, reliable performance of all job duties.

3. Maintain complete confidentiality of Studio 247 Fine Jewelry designs, suppliers, procedures and other Company proprietary information.

4. Promote sales by assisting customers, offering suggestions and staying informed of store promotions.

5. Ability to communicate professionally in person and by phone.

6. Stock shelves, counters, and tables with merchandise.

7. Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers.

8. Utilize product knowledge to promote sales.

9. Responsible for ensuring store is clean and presentable at all times.

10. Enter register transactions accurately.

11. Follow all store policies, procedures and instructions.

12. Produce customer quotations and proposals.

13. Assist in maintaining and monitoring electronic and marketing records for new and established customers.

14. Maintain detailed files for documentation.

15. Type proposals, letters, quotes, and miscellaneous correspondence.

16. Answer random sales calls and provides information as needed.

17. Assist customers with order pick-up and run credit card charges.

18. Assist customer service as needed, help customers with pickups, take and process sales orders.

19. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Ownership group.
