INTERNET SALES DIRECTOR

We are looking for self-motivated, driven individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, a great attitude, and the ability to lead others. The Internet Sales Department builds business by initiating and receiving phone calls and responding to internet generated leads from customers seeking to purchase automobiles. The Internet Manager trains and monitors the performance of the employee(s) in this department, as well as personally handles incoming leads. This position also assists in managing the content of dealership social media sites, monitors and assists in improving the businesses online reputation, and also works with our website provider to manage website content.

This position will be at Mercedes Benz of Anaheim

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Internet Sales Director will have overall responsibility of customer lead management, and the internet and phone sales processes. They will also implement and organize outbound call campaigns designed to generate sales and service business at the dealership.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Achieving High Standards

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures customer leads from the Dealership's lead management tool, phone calls from websites and online inventory listings are acted upon to ensure the customer is handled in the appropriate manor. Our lead response time goal is for 80% of the leads to be contacted within 15 minutes or less during business hours.
  • Monitors and coaches the Internet Sales Coordinators to reach department goals and consistently improve performance.
  • Ensures dealership's website address is prominently displayed as appropriate and works with website vendor(s) to maintain appropriate website content.
  • Maintains on-going contact with our customer database to capture new and repeat business.
  • Follows the customer through the new and used sales process (in-store visit; vehicle test drive, etc.) to ensure accurate record keeping and follow up.
  • Reaches monthly appointment scheduled, appointment shown and internet sales objectives.
  • Develops or employs in-depth knowledge of dealership products and services.
  • Provides feedback to management on the Dealership's internet sales activity.
  • Helps to develop sales and marketing programs for the Dealership for the internet customer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Coordinates with sales, parts & service department, F&I department, and others to ensure that all aspects of online marketing and eCommerce are functioning to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Identifies and supports opportunities for methods/process improvement in the sales department.

Understanding and Using Business Knowledge

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies retailing techniques, phone skills, and sales processes.
  • Maintains working knowledge of Manufacturer and/or third party lead providers.
  • Participates in departmental and dealership-wide meetings as requested.

  • Uses computer to look up and monitor requests.
  • Follows sales processes to ensure standards are met.
  • Maintains a clean, professional environment.
  • References manuals and other documents for information.
  • Projects self-confidence and enthusiasm

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree an asset, however not required.
  • Previous automotive or internet sales experience necessary.
  • Supervisory Experience and asset, but not necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in working on the Internet and internet based software programs
  • Proficiency in typing
  • Basic understanding of email operation
  • Basic understanding of computer file management – saving, uploading, etc.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Create, maintain and measure the internet business development processes

· Manage team of Internet Sales Managers & the lead generation process

· Develop and maintain the new hire and interview processes for all Internet Sales positions

· Oversee CRM usage & adoption by your team

· Coach techniques for generating appointments and quotes by means of proactive outbound prospecting and lead activity management

· Assist customers in appropriate vehicle selection – be the product expert & sounding board

· Direct customers to product information resources, including those available on the internet

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous dealership management experience is a huge plus
  • Experience working in BDC center or call center is a huge plus
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to stay strong and calm in a stressful environment; must thrive under pressure
  • Develop, train. Lead to inspire Internet Team to ensure strong growth and consistently high performance within your team.
  • Oversee usage of CRM & adoption by team
